Intelligent Memory
by Lisa Berger and Barry Gordon, M.D., Ph.D.
A groundbreaking exploration of how memory fuels thinking, problem-solving and creativity. (Penguin 2005)

Welcome to my website. I’m a writer of popular nonfiction books, nine and counting, mostly on topics related to personal health, medical advances, and breakthrough science. A handful of my books have been on personal finance and business.

My health and medical books span various illnesses and conditions, although I prefer to stay above the shoulders. I've written about mental illness and manic depression, psychiatric hospitals, chronic pain, dying, mental fitness, memory and better cognitive functioning.

Most of my books are available online from Amazon or Barnes and Noble. You should be able to find the paperback edition of the more recent ones in bookstores.

People frequently ask me how I come up with a subject or find a co-author. Sometimes an agent or a publisher comes up with an idea. Or, an idea may be sparked by a doctor who contacts my agent or me directly. Or, I may have a brainstorm for a book idea and go looking for an expert to work with. There’s no single formula, except that I’m always on the lookout for an intriguing topic that no one’s done and for experts who need help translating their work into a popular book. (My agent is Gail Ross and she can be reached at GailRoss.com.)

Please feel free to contact me with ideas, thoughts, whatever. I am currently living in Manila but still am interested in book projects. I can be reached via email at Lisaberger1@yahoo.com or by regular mail at PSC 500 Box 6, FPO AP 96515.
